The YWCA of Spokane announced today that Queen Latifah will be coming to Spokane to headline a special event called “A Conversation with the Queen: A Night of Triumph with Queen Latifah.” The evening will feature Latifah sharing her own true stories of challenge and triumph which have shaped her life and inspired countless women across the world. The event will be held March 22, 2012 at the Spokane Arena’s Star Theatre, and will raise money for the YWCA’s programs to empower women, provide services which help thousands of women each year overcome domestic violence, access important services for their children, and secure employment and housing.
Queen Latifah was inspired by the YWCA's scope and mission and is tailoring a special presentation from material in her bestselling book Put on Your Crown, inspiring positive action for individuals and communities. The event will be a fun and moving evening for women and men alike. This event is the first time Queen Latifah has performed anywhere in the northwest.
Desautel Hege is part of the event committee and is working to coordinate media and promote the unprecedented event for the YWCA.
Tickets will range from $50 to $200 and are available through TicketsWest at the Spokane Arena Box Office (720 West Mallon Ave), all TicketsWest Outlets, TicketsWest.com and 800-325-SEAT(7328)
